Statement of Faith

The Well Collective Statement of Faith with Scripture References

As a Christian homeschool cooperative, we believe our mission—to support families in educating their children and to cultivate deeply rooted community—must be grounded in Biblical truth. The following Statement of Faith outlines the core beliefs that shape our community and guide our teaching.

The Well welcomes families from all backgrounds, walks of life, and belief systems. Agreement with our Statement of Faith is not required for participation. Rather, it is the foundation that inspires and directs us as we pursue our mission of building a deeply rooted community.

1. The Scriptures

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. Men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error and is the final authority for faith and practice.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness...”
2 Peter 1:20-21 – “...men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
Psalm 119:160 – “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.”

2. God

We believe in one God, who eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, yet there is only one God.

Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.”
Matthew 28:19 – “...baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...”
2 Corinthians 13:14 – “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

3. Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He became flesh, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose again bodily. He ascended to heaven and will return to reign as King.

John 1:1,14 – “In the beginning was the Word... and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...”
Colossians 2:9 – “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form...”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – “Christ died for our sins... He was buried... He was raised on the third day...”
Acts 1:11 – “...This same Jesus... will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates hearts, and lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He empowers, guides, teaches, and equips believers for godly living and service.

John 14:16-17,26 – “...the Spirit of truth... will teach you all things...”
John 16:8 – “When he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.”
Romans 8:9 – “Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
Galatians 5:22-25 – “...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace...”

5. Humanity

We believe that all people are created in the image of God to live in fellowship with Him. However, through sinful disobedience, humanity became separated from God. As a result, all are born with a sinful nature and are incapable of restoring that relationship apart from divine grace.

Genesis 1:26-27 – “Let us make mankind in our image...”
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Isaiah 59:2 – “But your iniquities have separated you from your God...”
Ephesians 2:1-3 – “...you were dead in your transgressions and sins...”

6. Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, provided through the shed blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is received by grace through faith alone in Christ alone. No human effort or merit can contribute to salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith... not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Romans 5:8-9 – “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 14:6 – “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Acts 4:12 – “Salvation is found in no one else...”

7. The Christian Life

We believe that all Christians are called to live holy and obedient lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual growth comes through prayer, studying God’s Word, fellowship with other believers, and daily yielding to the Spirit of God.

Romans 12:1-2 – “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice... be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Galatians 2:20 – “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me...”
Colossians 3:1-3 – “Set your hearts on things above...”
2 Peter 3:18 – “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

8. The Church

We believe that the universal Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers who have trusted in the redemptive work of Christ. Jesus is the head of the Church. The Church exists to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and outreach to the lost.

Ephesians 1:22-23 – “...the church, which is his body, the fullness of him...”
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 – “...we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body...”
Hebrews 10:24-25 – “...not giving up meeting together... but encouraging one another...”
Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go and make disciples of all nations...
